Immerse yourself in nature at Wollongong Botanic Garden (rated #1 on Trip Advisor by travellers of things to do in Wollongong!), with an excellent network of paths to explore and hidden treasures to discover.

In addition to the many garden collections displaying plants from Australia and from around the world, the Garden is home to a range of wildlife including Bower Birds, native bees, Ring Tail Possums, Kookaburras, plenty of mini beasts, and so much more. You can escape on the Go Slow for a Mo’ nature wellness trail or with a walk through one of the largest rainforest collections in Australia, featuring a broad collection of Illawarra Rainforest species.

Wollongong Botanic Garden offers beautiful range outdoor spaces that create the perfect backdrop for your wedding or commitment ceremony, or private function like a christening, naming day ceremony or bridal show. Picnic spaces and BBQs are available.

Opening hours
Open daily from 7am (except Christmas Day and Good Friday). Check the website for seasonal opening hours.

Coffee and a range of delicious snacks can be purchased from the Garden Grounds Café between 9.00am and 2.00pm daily near the main entrance.

Entry to the Garden is FREE. Wollongong Botanic Garden is a service of Wollongong City Council.
